A powerful horse owned by the unnamed jötunn known as Master Builder, Svaðilfari was the key to completing the wall around Asgard on time thus winning for his owner the sun, the moon, and Freyja's hand. To ensure the jötunn could not complete his work on time, Loki took the form of a beautiful mare and lured the stallion away. Sometime later, Loki presented Oðin with a gift -- an eight-legged horse named Sleipnir who was the offspring of Svaðilfari and the mare (and perhaps the greatest thing Loki ever produced).
Each Mini Myth stands 2-3" tall and is presented in a cold cast brass finish, hand-weathered and antiqued to appear like something found at an archeological site.
This piece is part of the Mini Myth Collection® and was produced as the March 2023 piece of the Myth of the Month subscription.
